1 Year on From the .asia Domain Name Bonanza

Nearly a year has passed since Early Bird Sunrise registration began for the coveted new .asia domain extension, the Early Bird Sunrise period (SR2a) was the first opportunity for commercial entities to register a .asia extension. Prior to this, registration was limited to Asian governments wishing to submit their public bodies and culturally or economically important domains during the pre-Sunrise period.

Throughout the commercial Sunrise period, entry was limited to those companies with registered trademarks trading in on of the 72 Asian countries as defined by ICANN, the period was split into four sub-periods which ran consecutively with the entry requirements becoming less stringent over time, and finally closed for new registration on January 31 2008. On March 26 2008 the .asia Go Live registration period started allowing anyone around the world to buy a .asia domain, and prompted a wave of speculators to begin buying up cyber real-estate from web hosts in the hope that a few companies with sloppy marketing departments had missed the Sunrise window.

So why is the .asia extension so important, when the region has functioned perfectly well over the years with .com and the other Asian regional extensions? Put simply .asia provides a unifying sense of economic identity for the region which has over 500 million internet users (compared with 315 million in Europe and 253 million in the USA) a number which is growing steadily all the time as the cost of technology decreases. .asia also allows companies to demonstrate an online presence and expand in to a region with one of the fastest moving economies in the world.

That said how many companies have taken advantage of their newly acquired domains and actually set up a live site, well fewer that you would expect, a search of the obvious key players (Coca Cola, Pepsi, Ford) returned “error page not found messages” Toyota the third largest Asian company according to Business Week’s ‘Top 25 Asian Companies’ have not set up a .asia page, Sony the seventh largest Asian company’s site is “under construction” and 7eleven the mini-market of choice for the region has their domain ‘parked’ in fact of the well known international brands only Honda seems to have a fully functioning .asia domain. So why this reticence to embrace .asia? Do we expect to see a wealth of new .asia sites before the end of the year? Or, are the big players just happy with the fact that they have secured their plot and are now content to sit on the fence while the price of the cyber real estate rises around them? On thing does seem certain – this area is bound to take off eventually, and although the transition is slow it is gradually happening, with millions of quality domain names still on offer it could be time to speculate and buy your company’s piece of .asia before somebody else does.

Fixed and Variable Home Rate Loan ? Ways of Creating a Dream House

One of the most luxurious financial investments that the majority of people make in their life span is for no doubt a home credit loan. Making a decision which loan is the best for their financial position can be really tough to do for a first time potential homeowner. There are huge proportion of home buyers who cannot establish the distinctions amid the two established choices: fixed vs. variable interest rate home mortgage loans.

It is important to collect as much information as achievable on the financial decisions that you can manage with.

Fixed home loans

A fixed home loan is taken out with a set interest rate for a recognized period, normally 3 to 5 years. At the end of that time, you can fix the rate all over again or amend into variable rate for the balance of the credit.

The fixed rates that are charged will be based on predictions about the probable changes to the authorized cash rate over the rested period, which can vary from just 6 months to as long as 15 years.

The advantage of fixed-rate loans is the safety they provide in opposition to rising interest rates. You come to know exactly what repayments you will have to make for the fixed period no matter what happens in the market.

The parallel disadvantage is that fixed-rate loans are relatively nonflexible, even though some do currently offer features such as accelerated repayments and a redraw facility.

The most important limitation on fixed home loans is the huge ‘break costs’ that are affected if you pay off or refinance the loan prior to the fixed period limit.

Variable home loans

Variable-rate home loans are worked by the lender regulating the interest rate you give, generally in response to alterations in the authorized cash rate set by the Reserve Bank.

Variable-rate loans are generally not expensive than fixed-rate loans. They also offer more flexibility and features, for instance redraw facilities and the facility to make more numerous/ bigger repayments.

The negative aspect is that the loan repayments can increase as interest rates rise. Most lending organizations can fine you for making extra repayments. You can also be penalized if you pay off your home loan ahead of the appropriate date.

Whether you end up preferring a fixed or variable interest rate home mortgage loan, it is important to ascertain your assessment on your individual preference for danger related to financial affairs and the general circumstances of the market on which your home mortgage loan depends.

Question by xlovergirl: Where do I start on registering a domain name on my own?
Where do I start on registering a domain name on my own? I’m not asking for GoDaddy or any other domain registrars to register it FOR ME. I want to know where can I register/claim a domain directly. To try and make the question simpler, where or how does GoDaddy register domain names for people who want that available domain name?

Best answer:

Answer by dhana
You can start registering your domain names in Godaddy.com itself. Or you can find some of the registrant like dreamhost, bluehost similarly. Before you host a domain, decide in which platform you will be working? I mean you are running you site under LINUX or Windows.

Mortgage loan interest rates have reduced considerably in the recent times, resulting into a trend in which many house owners have started opting for the refinance facilities by availing mortgage refinance loans, and capitalize upon the potential savings.
